Seasons End

Where did it go? And for that matter, why did it go so fast? Once again summer is leaving us and the cold will slowly, but surely be creeping back. I am not ready for that. The past 3 months are a blur to me. Partly because I have been busy as hell and partly because I have had one to many Heinekins. What is one to do?

Here are some more of the fantastic tunes that I have discovered. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

DEATHFACE

Sadly to say the fantastic duo that was Guns N Bombs is no more. Done. Dead. Fallin into the void of being obsolete. R.I.P. Fortunatly enough for us, Johnny Love, whom which was one half of GNB has returned under a new moniker. That name is DEATHFACE. GNB had some amazing beats. Stuff that would just make you wanna thrash around to and lose 10lbs. DEATHFACE's beats are so hard you might just end up, well, dead. Here is a mix by DEATHFACE that shows how hard he can be. It is about a one hour mix of his productions and remixes. This is the hard shit. Consider yourself warned.

The Presets

I know these guys have been blogged about for some time now. In fact it has been years since people have been raving about them. They astonished bloggers and critics with their first album "Beams". So, you may ask, why are you writing about them now? Well, here is the answer to that. I am writing about them because they are worth writing about. I should have done so right off the bat with my first blog entry on Camels and Crown.

The Presets, for me at least, seemed to pick up where Underworld left off. Now I still love Underworld, but The Presets remind me of what Underworld used to create. Intense, vocal driven, catchy electronic music. The Presets will assault your eardrums with their crazy, digi-pop-punk anthems.

So I am gonna provide you with some of these fine Australian boys bangin tunes off of their latest album "Apocolypso". For those of you that have not ever heard them before I hope you will enjoy them as much as I have. Seriously, these guys fuckin' rock!!!

The Long Journey

Unbelievable. I went all summer without even writing one blog. It's amazing how new events in ones life can keep them from doing some of the things they love. Now I am not saying that blogging is at the top of my list, but I still do enjoy discovering and sharing new music. I will not ramble about my summer because quite frankly, I do not believe most readers care. All I want to do with this posting is share some of the musical gems that I have discovered in past weeks. Please sample each band and enjoy these tunes to the fullest.

P.S. - I will try to be more productive with this blog. Hope you have not all left me for dead.

Danananana...

Wha? Huh? Who? Yes, that is the name of this band. Dananananakroyd! They effin kill it! I'm only gonna ask this, what is not to love about a six piece band from Glasgow that has two drummers that play in unison and has a name like that? This "fight pop" is the shiznit!!!
Dananananakroyd - Black Wax
Dananananakroyd - Chrome Rainbow

The Horrors

Totally loving this new album from British shoegazers "The Horrors". Their sophomore album "Primary Colours" is chock full of layered keyboards, swirling guitars, and psychedelic feedback and distortion. Its as almost the lead singer is trying to conjure up Ian Curtis of Joy Division. Solid album all the way through. It should be though considering it was produced by Geoff Barrows. He is the guy that also produces Portishead. Some bloggers and critics are already hailing "Primary Colours" to be named album of the year. We will just have to wait and see on that one. Here is a couple of licks of what "The Horrors" have to offer.
